PAUL JAY COHEN, Esquire Broker of Record.

Paul Jay Cohen is the Broker of Record of Compass North Realty and one of the founding partners of Cohen and Willwerth.  Upon joining Robert J. Willwerth, a firm was developed that specializes in the areas of real estate, landlord-tenant law, commercial litigation and collections.  As a licensed Real Estate Broker, Mr. Cohen has positioned himself as a truly unique real estate law expert in the industry.  Mr. Cohen came to Compass North Realty with a strong educational background, having earned a B.A. degree from American University in 1980 and then a J.D. degree from the Delaware Law School of Widener University in 1983. He continued his education by taking various real estate courses from 1983 to 1991 in order to become a licensed broker. In 2003 he became a partner in a real estate development company, VRAP L.L.C., which manages properties in Philadelphia.  Mr. Cohen is also a prominent government advocate for the Apartment Association of Greater Philadelphia.  He is a board member for the Association and currently Co-Chairs the Legislative Committee.  He has helped to write, support and alter several important pieces of legislation and is currently using his expertise to re-write the entire Pennsylvania Landlord & Tenant Act.  Mr. Cohen is also on the legislative committees of the National Apartment Association and Pennsylvania Association of Realtors.

 

MARK B. GREENBERG, Principal

Wharton Undergraduate Division, University of Pennsylvania. Mr. Greenberg is the President, Founder and Principal of Compass North Development, LLC, Compass North Realty, LLC, Compass North Construction Company, LLC, and eight other real estate holding entities. Mr. Greenberg has acquired over 120 properties including residential, multi-family, commercial, industrial, and mixed use properties. He has raised over $35,000,000 in debt for real estate transactions and currently holds over 60 properties. Mr. Greenberg is highly experienced in acquisitions, financing, development, re-development, construction management, leasing, and management. He has conducted lectures on various aspects of real estate for over 10 real estate offices in 2007. Prior to the real estate business, Mr. Greenberg was the Managing Director of proSOURCE Corporation, a supply chain consulting company with clients that included The New York Times, CIENA, Big Y Food Markets and Oxford Health Plans. Mr. Greenberg served as the President of the Alumni Executive Board at Chestnut Hill Academy, as ex-officio on the Board of Trustees of Chestnut Hill Academy, and is a involved with Ready Willing & Able.

 

JAMES LEE, Vice President and Principal

University of Delaware-Bachelor in Civil Engineerig, Temple University- Masters Degree in Education.  Mr. Lee oversees the acquisition and development of investment properties for Compass North Development and other Real Estate Holding Companies.  In 2008 alone, Mr. Lee supervised the purchase, planning, and construction management of over 30 properties.  Mr. Lee oversees all aspects, employees, and contractors of Compass North Construction.  Mr. Lee and members of his team currently represent buyers and sellers of both residential and non residential properties with a level of expertise that is unique among real estate agents.  Prior to real estate, Mr. Lee was a project manager for a commercial construction management firm and a physics teacher in the Philadelphia public school system.

 

JOSHUA P. MACIOLEK, Project Manager, Construction Division

Cabrini College Graduate.  Mr. Maciolek oversees the renovation and ground up construction of properties owned by various Compass North affliated holding companies.  Mr. Maciolek oversees the recruitment and screening of general contractors and sub-contractors, contract negotiations, vendor selection, and contract execution.  Mr. Maciolek also oversees all work performed to ensure quality of work, accuracy, and budget.  In 2008, Mr. Maciolek completed over 15 projects from start to finish and is slated to oversee in excess of 20 in 2009.  Mr. Maciolek holds a Pennsylvania Real Estate Sales License and is a principal in MLB Holdings, a small real estate holding company.  Prior to joining Compass North, Mr. Maciolek was an Assistant Director at the Presbyterian Homes System.  Mr. Maciolek serves as a board member of the Chestnut Hill Academy Alumni Executive Board.

 

MARIACONCETTA CILLUFFO, Project Manager, Construction Division

 Maria joined the Compass North Group in June 2009.  Maria has managed over 20 projects ranging in scope from full-gut rehabs for residential, multi-family, and commercial properties.  Maria focuses on planning, approvals, permitting, resource identification, negotiation, resource selection, resource management, and quality assurance. Maria also plays a role in various Compass North affiliated holding companies.  Maria assist Mr. Greenberg and Mr. Lee with the acquisition and development of investment properties.  Having been involved with her family’s property and business development since an early age, Maria has a passion for entrepreneurial endeavors. Prior to joining Compass North Maria was employed as a sales agent and property manager for a  Philadelphia based Real Estate Firm. Maria also acts as the Asset Manager and Property Manager for Cilluffo Property Holdings, LLC.   In addition Maria also worked as an Assistant Site Director at the Flats at Girard Pointe (Philadelphia, Pa), a joint Green and Ecofriendly development project of CRL2 Development and JDT International. Maria initiated and managed all aspects of marketing and advertising for the project, and was instrumental in assisting with the site development.    Maria has spent much of her free time working with  the Leukemia Lymphoma Society raising money for cancer awareness, and also participates in the City to Shore Ride to raise money for the MS society.

 

TOM CASSIDY, Property Manager & Field Operations

Tom Cassidy started at Compass North in November of 2008.  Tom graduated with a BA in Communications from West Chester University in December of 2007.  While at West Chester Tom was a J. Wood Platt Caddy Scholarship recipient.  Since joining Compass North he has become a Licensed Pennsylvania Real Estate Agent snd has also undergone sales training.  Tom's responsibilities at Compass North include managing and creating websites, leasing Temple University Properties, acquisition and sales of properties, assisting the construction team, and a variety of field and office work.

 

JEANNETTE PAYNE STEIGERWALD, Office Manager

Jen started at Compass North Corp after moving to Philadelphia from Cleveland, Ohio in early 2005.  Jen is currently responsible for all office administration, organization and account management.  Her prior experience in office mangement comes from 11 years with a multi-location retail operation, handling lease management and property maintenance scheduling as well as payroll, invoicing, and related back-office activities; and 6 years of administrative experience with a law firm, including court filings for probate and escrow matters.  Jen received her Pennsylvania Real Estate License in 2008.  While raising 3 sons, she was involved in a variety of community, school and parish organizations in both volunteer and leadership positions.
